BENEVOLENCE
In the interest of helping others, we have a small Benevolence fund lovingly donated by God's people. We view these funds as God's (not ours), managed by volunteer members of our church family hereafter referred to as the Benevolence Team. The Benevolence Fund is intended as a source of last resort, to be used when a family or individual requesting assistance has explored all other possibilities of help from family, friends, savings, or investments. It is intended to be a temporary help during times of crises. Therefore, it is not to be given away unwisely, but with loving discernment.
Below are our Essential Support Principles. These principles are not intended to burden you, but to ensure responsible stewardship and discernment of needs as we serve in this capacity to use God's money wisely.
ESSENTIAL SUPPORT PRINCIPLES
The main reason we exist is to encourage you to walk with God
We intend to treat you with dignity and respect. Therefore, abusive or aggressive language/actions will never be tolerated
Cash will not be given at any time
We do not say "yes" without prayerful evaluation that includes asking you to fill out an application, provide Release of Waivers giving us permission to verify the information you have stated. The process will take at least 48 hours.
Our intention is to help with "needs" not "wants or desires"
We cannot consider any invoice, bill, or obligation that is not in the name of the applicant(s)
Because of limited financial funds and the great need, we will not help a family more than once a year with monetary needs. Food from our Food Pantry is available to Members and Regular Attendees once per month unless determined otherwise.
We may ask you to participate in budget/financial counseling
Unless you are a member at Holmes Road, you will be required to provide a Photo ID to process your request.
